There are seasons in life that change you forever. Loss does that. It rearranges your world in ways no one can truly prepare you for—emotionally, mentally, and even creatively.
This past year has been one of those seasons for me.
Losing Taylor shifted everything. He was part of my everyday life, my future plans, my sense of stability. Grief doesn’t come in a straight line, and it doesn’t politely stay in the background while you continue on as usual. Some days it’s quiet. Other days it’s loud and heavy and unexpected.
And yet—life keeps moving.
Running a photography and film business while navigating grief has been both grounding and challenging. There were moments I questioned how I could continue creating for others while my own world felt fractured. But storytelling—real storytelling—has always been at the heart of what I do.
Grief has deepened my understanding of love, connection, and the fleeting nature of moments. It’s reminded me why photographs and films matter so much. They become anchors. Proof that something beautiful existed. Something real.
Even on the hard days, I’ve chosen to keep showing up—with honesty, intention, and heart.
In the midst of loss, I’ve also experienced overwhelming gratitude.
As I look ahead to the future, I’m incredibly thankful to share that 12 weddings are already booked for 2026. That trust—especially during such a tender season of my life—means more than I can fully put into words.
To my couples: thank you for believing in me, for allowing me into your lives, and for trusting me to tell your stories. Your love stories are reminders that joy and sorrow can coexist—and that love, in all its forms, continues.
Moving forward, my work is rooted even deeper in intention. I don’t take a single wedding day, embrace, or quiet in-between moment for granted. I create for the couples who want more than just documentation—for those who want their memories to feel alive, honest, and lasting.
Life after loss looks different. It’s slower. Softer. More intentional. And while grief will always be part of my story, so will resilience, creativity, and hope.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for supporting my small business. And thank you for letting me do what I love—even as I continue healing.
With gratitude,
Marissa Ann Photography
